The formation of healthy flocculent particles is the key to good deposition in biological treatment systems. In well-functioning systems, the formation of flocculent sludge is a natural consequence of the wastewater treatment process. However, when the flocculated particles are dispersed, many suspended solids can get into the treated wastewater, and sewage treatment plants with active sludge can be much harder to work due to poor compaction of solids in the secondary sedimentation tank. An increase in dispersion often occurs due to the choice of non-cladding bacteria in the system.

BioAid 5700 is a unique organic substrate to promote the formation of larger and denser flaky particles.

BioAid 5700 is an algae-based product that promotes the formation of healthy flocculent particles and improved sedimentation. It is used in combination with Novozymes biological products. Unlike chemical flocculating agents and coarse grains, which mask and exacerbate biological problems, the biological BioAid 5700 provides a favorable substrate to stimulate better flocculation by the existing microbial community. In addition, it provides a source of readily available carbon to stimulate biological activity, especially in industrial waste streams with poorly treated organic substances.
